This Privacy Policy describes how Circulairs ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and password. Your password is managed securely through Firebase Authentication and is never stored in plain text.

1.2 Wardrobe and Clothing Data

When you use the App to manage your wardrobe, we collect information you provide or that is generated through our AI features, including:

• Photographs of clothing items you upload or capture
• Clothing attributes such as category, color, material, fit, occasion, season, brand, price, and condition
• Outfit combinations ("Looks") you create or that are generated by our AI
• Planned outfits linked to calendar dates
• Wishlist items and their associated details

1.3 Images

We collect and process images you provide through the App's camera or photo library. These images are used to:

• Display your wardrobe items within the App
• Generate AI-enhanced images (background removal and lighting correction)
• Analyze clothing attributes using AI
• Create outfit composites using digital twin technology

Both your original and AI-processed images are stored in our cloud infrastructure.

1.4 Location Data

With your permission, we collect your approximate location to provide weather forecasts integrated with the outfit planner. Location data is used solely to retrieve local weather information and is not stored on our servers beyond what is necessary to fulfill the weather request.

We may automatically collect certain technical information, including:

• Device type and operating system version
• App usage patterns and interaction data
• Crash reports and performance data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the App: manage your account, store your wardrobe, and enable outfit planning
• AI processing: enhance item images (background removal, lighting normalization) and analyze clothing attributes (color, material, fit, category, brand)
• Generate outfits: create AI-powered outfit combinations using your wardrobe items
• Weather integration: display local weather forecasts in the outfit planner based on your location
• Improve the App: analyze usage trends, fix bugs, and develop new features
• Communicate with you: send service-related notifications when necessary

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

3.1 Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Firebase (Google): authentication, database (Firestore), cloud storage, and cloud functions. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed through Firebase services. See: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• Apple WeatherKit: weather data retrieval based on your location. See Apple's privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy

3.2 AI Processing

Clothing images you upload are sent to our cloud-based AI services (hosted via Firebase Cloud Functions) for enhancement and analysis. These images are processed to extract clothing attributes and improve image quality. AI-processed data is stored in association with your account.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect our rights, or ensure the safety of our users.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Firebase services (Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Authentication), which are hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. We implement the following security measures:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Firebase Authentication for secure account access
• Image metadata stripping before upload
• JPEG compression (quality 0.8) to reduce exposure of unnecessary image data
• File size validation (maximum 10 MB per image)

While we take reasonable precautions to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, unless retention is required by law.

Wardrobe items, looks, and planned outfits are stored indefinitely while your account remains active.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion: request deletion of your personal data
• Portability: request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Withdraw consent: revoke permissions (e.g., camera, location) through your device settings at any time

Device Permissions

You can manage the following permissions through your iOS device settings:

• Camera: required to capture clothing item photos. The App will not access your camera without your explicit permission.
• Photo Library: required to select existing photos from your library.
• Location: required for weather-based outfit planning. You can deny or revoke location access at any time; the planner will function without weather data.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where Firebase and Google Cloud services are hosted. For transfers from the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on Google's data processing terms and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission to ensure adequate protection of your data.

9. Your Rights Under GDPR (European Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provides you with additional rights. Circulairs acts as the data controller for your personal data.

Legal basis for processing: We process your data based on your consent (e.g., camera and location permissions), contractual necessity (e.g., providing the App's wardrobe management services), and our legitimate interests (e.g., improving the App and preventing fraud).

Your rights include:

• Access: request a copy of your personal data
• Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data
• Erasure: request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restriction: request that we limit how we process your data
• Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests

10. Your Rights Under CCPA (California Users)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with additional rights.

• Right to Know: You may request details about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
• Right to Delete: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
• Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
